Naomi's day had taken a turn for the worst. She had spent most of today holed up in the armory, trying to get the sensors on her drone in working order. At first, they weren't even working, and she shattered four of the rotator blades when the drone flew full speed into a wall. Now the sensors seemed to work, but the drone also decided that it would be a great moment to literally fly out the open door.
All she was trying to do was build a bad robot. Something that just barely served its purpose, or failed horribly. But her hair cutting robot had seemed to decide that it was going to cut hair no matter what, and took off, all the while slowly opening and closing the very large and sharp scissors (oh why had she chosen to sharpen the blades before getting everything else in working order).
So she had to run out of the armory and towards the cabin courtyard after her runaway robot, all the while shouting, "Jaques! Come back here!" Like the robot could actually hear her. Maybe next time she should just opt for a regular remote control.

Andrew wasn't in particular fond of the courtyard. There were far too many people who looked like they were straight out of an episode of Modern Family. Of course, he had to sleep in his bunk, and put his things in his bunk, which meant crossing through the courtyard often. It was this unlucky time that Andrew noticed a drone hovering not far from his head.
"That's a drone." Andrew explained to Netha, who didn't look perplexed in the slightest, but Andrew could tell when she was feeling things, even if it never looked like it. "Weird people in populated cities use them to spy on their neighbors showering, for the most part. They are the answer to gated communities." Andrew mused. He wondered what that must be like, to glance out your window while changing just to see a drone. It wasn't like you were getting the drone out of the middle of the sky.
"Oh." Andrew commented as he noticed the scissors. "That's what we call a level two drone. When someone is so disturbed that privacy invasion isn't enough, but cutting people from a distance is, and-" That's the moment Andrew realized that the drone was coming at him, and he also realized that a bald spot just wouldn't look good on him. Netha gave the drone a devastating growl. Somehow Andrew didn't think that was going to work.

Naomi sprinted after the drone, following it into the courtyard. She should've known this was going to happen, she makes something that isn't supposed to cause harm, and it disobeys her. All she wanted was to make a stupid robot. She found Jaques (all her inventions had human names, it was a thing with her) cornering a guy and his very large dog. It looked like it was recognizing the guy, and moving in to trim. She had installed a special sensor that would recognize the difference between humans and inanimate objects, by determining whether they moved or not.
"Stay very still!" Naomi yelled to him, finally getting close enough. "If you don't move it'll think you're not a person and leave you alone. Like bees, or the dinosaur from Jurassic Park."
